The City of Bath
Bath is the sumptuous and beautiful city just around the corner from Bristol in the West country. The Romans named the city of Bath "Aquae Solis" or Waters of the Sun because it has the only natural hot springs in the UK. The famous Roman Baths were founded in 75 A.D and are still fed by natural mineral springs; and now the city of Bath has opened the Thermae Spa, Britain's only natural thermal spa.
Bath is only a 90-minute train ride from London. Bath has numerous interesting museums and art galleries and beautiful architecture, e.g. 18th century Royal Crescent of classically joined Georgian town houses, the Circus, and Pulteney Bridge, which is one of only four bridges lined with shops in the world and is modelled on the Ponte Vecchio in Florence.
Beckford’s Tower in Bath is a 19th century folly in Lansdown and provides superb views over the city. Bath has a number of museums, theatres, cinemas, restaurants and nightclubs. Bath University provides some excellent education opportunities.
You will find every therapy in Bath: counselling, hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, shamanism, energy healing, life coaching and weight loss hypnosis. Soul Therapy sees many clients from Bath at the Bristol Therapy Centre.
The City of Cheltenham
Cheltenham Spa is England's most complete Regency town and is less than a hundred miles from London. Cheltenham is an ideal base for touring into the Cotswolds, Stratford upon Avon, Bath and Bristol. Cheltenham has been welcoming visitors for nearly 300 years, ever since the discovery of the first natural spring. Cheltenham legend says that medicinal waters were discovered at a spring on the present site of Cheltenham Ladies College. Cheltenham Waters are the only natural, consumable alkaline waters in Great Britain.
There are plenty of art galleries and museums in Cheltenham, e.g. the Gardens Gallery, and the Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum. Cheltenham has been a Britain in Bloom winner on many occasions and has also won the Prix European d'Excellence. As long ago as 1901 it was said "Cheltenham is the garden town of England". The tree-lined Promenade with its colourful Long Gardens is one of the finest boulevards in the country. Cheltenham has some inspiring churches, cathredrals and abbeys and Cheltenham is a great place to tour. The well known Cheltenham Literature Festival is a popular event in and around Cheltenham.
The chic Continental atmosphere of Cheltenham's tree-lined avenues, colourful parks, gardens and pavement cafes, are the perfect setting for retail indulgence! With a backdrop of elegant Regency architecture and award-winning floral displays, Cheltenham shopping is not only great retail therapy but also a deeply relaxing experience.
